Will we see the return of pre-mask Vader?

A lot of rumors are going around that we could see the return of the man who played the first Skywalker. Hayden Christensen portrayed Anakin Skywalker in both Star Wars Episode II and Episode III. The Prequel Trilogy told the story of how a young boy named Anakin from Tatooine went on to become the dark and maniacal Darth Vader.

Fans haven’t seen Christensen back on the big screen for any of the Star Wars films after the first three episodes, but that is likely to change with the upcoming Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series.

The new show is said to be one of several new Star Wars series coming to the streaming platform and will see Ewan McGregor reprise his role as the beloved Jedi. Deborah Chow, who directed two episodes for The Mandalorian, will direct the Obi-Wan series.

With production on the new show underway, Christensen is in talks to return as Anakin, but it is hard to speculate how much fans will see the character of Skywalker as the Obi-Wan Kenobi series is said to take place after the events of Revenge of the Sith. This means that Anakin would have already transformed into Darth Vader. So, it is likely that if Christensen does reprise his role, he will only return for flashbacks.

Currently the Obi-Wan series has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but production is expected to pick up again fairly soon.
