Taylor Swift fans, affectionately known as Swifties, are expressing their disappointment over a new wax figure of the pop star unveiled at the Panoptikum in Hamburg, Germany’s oldest and largest wax museum. The figure, which debuted on Tuesday, has been met with widespread criticism from fans who find its resemblance to Swift lacking.

The wax figure features Swift in a sequined romper similar to the outfit she wore at the 2019 iHeart Radio Music Awards. However, the portrayal has sparked a wave of negative feedback due to discrepancies in accuracy. Fans were quick to take to the museum’s Instagram post, sharing their unfiltered opinions.

“Darling, it’s a daydream dressed like a nightmare,” one fan commented, referencing Swift’s lyric from “Blank Space,” while another wrote, “What is that? 😭😭 sry, but that’s embarrassing!” A third fan added, “Completely unrealistic 😮 someone did a terrible job.”

Critics also noted that the wax figure’s attempt at mimicking Swift’s signature heart gesture is incorrect. Unlike Swift, who uses both hands to form the heart, the wax figure only uses its index fingers and thumbs.

Despite the criticism, the Panoptikum has other notable figures in its collection, including Queen Elizabeth II, Angelina Jolie, and Swift’s friend Ed Sheeran. The museum’s latest addition comes just weeks after Swift performed in Hamburg on July 23 and 24 as part of her Eras Tour. Swift, who celebrated the occasion with an Instagram post, is currently preparing for a five-night stint in London to conclude the European leg of her tour.

The Eras Tour, which has captivated audiences across five continents, will wrap up its North American leg in Vancouver on December 8, 2024. Swift is set to take a brief break before completing the tour, which will include a total of 149 shows.

As fans express their dissatisfaction with the new wax figure, it remains to be seen if the museum will address the feedback or make any adjustments.
