Superman Star Nicholas Hoult has been in the entertainment industry for so long that he rarely gets starstruck moments, except when he is meeting Hollywood legend Brad Pitt.
During a recent chat on Dax Shepard’s Armchair Expert podcast, the actor who is popular for playing the Superman villain shared a story of meeting Brad Pitt at the Venice Film Festival. He confessed that he “shuttered” when talking to Brad Pitt.
“He’s also just given, for me, so many iconic brilliant performances,” Hoult recalled. “I was like, oh, you had things you could have said to him, but my brain wasn’t working. I just stood there like a lemon.”
Though both worked on the same project, Hoult said that the awkward silence made him feel similar to a nervous fan. Pitt also complimented Hoult for how well he played the role of Peter (the husband of Catherine the Great) in The Great.
“He’d seen The Great and really liked it, and then was just like, ‘Hey, the show’s really funny. You’re funny,'” Hoult claimed. “He was pretty lovely.”
There is an interesting thing that Pitt is also a producer on The Great. This made Hoult’s meeting even more meaningful and memorable. Nicholas Hoult expressed his respect for Pitt’s legendary work both in front of and behind the camera. Fans have loved Hoult’s honesty about talking about his real-life fan moments.
Hoult has an iconic role in the upcoming Superman film. He will be playing the role of a popular villain, Lex Luthor. The same villain character has been previously portrayed by actors like Jesse Eisenberg, Gene Hackman, and Jon Cryer.
Superman will hit theaters on July 11.
