Krispy Kreme Offers Free Donuts to Vaccinated People

Flash that vaccination card for free snacks.

I would assume, in my apparently ignorant ways, that the only incentive one would need to get a vital vaccine in the middle of a global pandemic would be, you know, not dying. But while vaccinations are increasing around the United States, there is still a large population of people who have admitted that they have no intention of getting jabbed. If we wanna get through this in a timely manner, we’re gonna have to grease the wheels a bit here. It’s time to break out… the free donuts.

Yesterday, US donut shop chain Krispy Kreme, which just recently offered a special Mars-themed donut to commemorate the landing of the Perseverance rover, made an announcement of yet another, arguably more practical promotion. From now until the very end of 2021, anyone who visits a Krispy Kreme location and flashes a COVID-19 vaccination card indicating they’ve received at least one shot is entitled to one free glazed donut, no questions asked. This ain’t a one time deal, either; the promotion specifies free donut redemption is “one redemption per guest per day,” which means, if a vaccinated person were so inclined, they could get a free Krispy Kreme donut every day for the entire rest of the year.

For those who don’t want to get vaccinated, Krispy Kreme is offering free donuts for them as well, albeit on a much smaller scale. Starting Monday, March 29, and then every subsequent Monday until May 24, anyone can claim a free donut, as well as a cup of coffee, no vaccination card required. So basically, your choices are to get a super-important vaccine and get free donuts every day for a year, or don’t do that and get one free donut once a week for a few weeks. The choice seems pretty obvious to me.
