Four months after Liam Payne’s tragic passing, his girlfriend Kate Cassidy is speaking out for the first time, sharing her heartbreak and final moments with the One Direction star.
In an emotional interview, Kate revealed the last text she sent to Liam before his fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina. “I can’t wait for you to get home and see the house,” she recalled, explaining that she had decorated their home for Halloween while he was still abroad.
Kate, who had been with Liam for two years, never imagined that their time together would be cut short. She described their last days in South America as full of love and happiness, making his sudden passing even harder to accept.
A Heartbreaking Phone Call
Kate was at home with their dog, Nala, when she received the devastating call. “I was scrolling through TikTok when one of Liam’s friends called me,” she said. At first, she thought it was just a rumor, but a sinking feeling in her gut told her otherwise. “When I officially found out, I felt numb. I tried calling him. I called pretty much everybody.”
Struggling to process the news, Kate spent that night pacing around the house, unable to sleep. “Poor Nala thought I was trying to play, but I was just in complete shock,” she shared.

Kate has since moved back to New Jersey, trying to navigate life without the man she called her soulmate. “It still doesn’t feel real that he’s gone,” she admitted. “I think about Liam every second of every day.”
The loss has left a void that she doesn’t know how to fill. “The idea that I have to go through life without him by my side—it’s really hard,” she said.
While authorities continue to investigate the circumstances of Liam’s passing, Kate hopes to honor his memory by sharing their love story. “I’ve received thousands of messages from his fans looking for clarity,” she said. “I just want to share the love and happiness we had.”
Though the pain is still fresh, Kate holds onto the memories of their time together. As she put it, “Liam was in a great place, full of love and positivity. You never truly know what tomorrow will bring.”
