In a bombshell revelation that has left fans reeling, beloved actor Liam Neeson, 72, has shared a surprising update about his love life – or, rather, the lack of it. The “Taken” star, known for his rugged good looks and iconic roles in action thrillers, has revealed that his days of romance are behind him.

In an interview with People on October 23, Neeson nonchalantly dropped the news when asked about his dating status. “No, in a word. I’m past all that,” he stated, stunning fans who have long admired the Hollywood star’s enduring appeal. Neeson, who has played countless leading men with love interests, is now declaring he’s done with real-life romance.

This candid confession comes more than a decade after the tragic loss of his wife, Natasha Richardson, in 2009. The Love Actually actor was married to Richardson for 15 years and shared two sons with her, Micheál, 29, and Daniel, 28. The couple’s love story was one for the ages, but Richardson’s untimely death following a skiing accident left a deep wound in Neeson’s life.

“It was a horrible thing to happen,” Neeson recalled of the tragedy, admitting that grief drove him to immerse himself in work. “I just poured myself into acting,” Neeson said, noting how his Irish working-class background kept him going by taking on every role that came his way.

Despite stepping back into the dating pool after Richardson’s passing, including a two-year relationship with public relations executive Freya St. Johnston, Neeson has now officially closed the book on love. Fans, however, can’t help but wonder: Was Neeson ever truly ready to move on after Natasha?

Over the years, the Taken star has been open about the grief that still grips him. Neeson once revealed in a 2014 interview that his sorrow sometimes comes “like a wave.” “You just get this profound feeling of instability… The Earth isn’t stable anymore,” he explained.

His decision to forgo love at this stage has many questioning if Neeson is protecting himself from the heartbreak he experienced. But one thing is clear: Neeson is prioritizing his peace and focusing on what matters most to him – his family and his storied acting career.

With his sons now grown and a solid support system that includes Natasha’s mother, Vanessa Redgrave, and sister, Joely Richardson, the Schindler’s List star seems to have found his footing in life once again. But fans may be left heartbroken knowing that the man who once stole their hearts on the silver screen is no longer looking to share his with anyone else.
