A Loss at Such a Young Age
Kansas authorities confirmed on Friday that actor Cole Brings Plenty, known for his role in the Yellowstone prequel series “1923,” has been found dead at the age of 27. Brings Plenty had been reported missing, with police seeking him in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident.
According to a news release from the Johnson County Sheriff’s office, deputies responding to a report of an unoccupied vehicle discovered Brings Plenty’s body in a wooded area near Homestead Lane. The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation, with authorities providing no further details at this time.
In a statement to Entertainment Weekly, Joe Brings Plenty Sr., Cole’s father, expressed deep sadness and gratitude for the outpouring of support from the public during the search for his son. The family requests privacy as they navigate this difficult time and process their grief.
Earlier in the week, the Lawrence Police Department had announced their intention to arrest Brings Plenty following an alleged domestic violence incident. However, details of the incident were not disclosed to protect the privacy of the alleged victim.
Brings Plenty’s disappearance had prompted concern from his family and the public, with his uncle Moses Brings Plenty, also an actor on Yellowstone, joining efforts to locate him. Family spokesperson Michelle Shining Elk emphasized the need for patience and respect for due process while awaiting further information.
