On Saturday, the Australian actor took to the stage alongside his friend Ed Sheeran, performing Sheeran’s hit song “Thinking Out Loud” before an electrified crowd of 70,000 at the National Arena in Bucharest, Romania.

Hemsworth’s drumming debut is part of his challenge on the National Geographic show, Limitless With Chris Hemsworth. As part of the series, Hemsworth learned to play the drums from scratch, embracing the challenge of mastering a new instrument for his show’s exploration of cognitive health and personal growth.

In an Instagram video, Sheeran shared that Hemsworth reached out last December, mentioning a “documentary” he was working on about the benefits of learning new skills. “I’ve been thinking about this a lot,” Hemsworth said. “I’m ready to put this one to bed.”

Despite his initial nervousness, Hemsworth impressed audiences with his drumming skills, earning praise and a special “participation award” from Sheeran after the show. His performance not only showcased his newfound talent but also highlighted his commitment to pushing boundaries and embracing new challenges.
