Donald Trump is back at it again with his late-night TV rants. This time, his target is Seth Meyers. The president jumped on Truth Social around 2 a.m. today after hearing what he called a “sick rumor” that it is NBC’s decision to extend the Late Night contract of Meyers.
President Trump wrote, “There is a sick rumor going around that Fake News NBC extended the contract of one of the least talented Late Night television hosts out there, Seth Meyers. He has no ratings, talent, or intelligence, and the personality of an insecure child.”
Trump didn’t stop there. He also questioned NBC and asked why the network would keep someone he thinks is “a dope” on air.
It’s important to notice that NBC already extended the contract of Meyers last year and locked him in until 2028. So now, Donald Trump’s outrage seems a little late to the party. Neither NBC nor Meyers’ team has made any comments about Trump’s post.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Trump has targeted late-night comedians. He recently celebrated Stephen Colbert’s show being canceled and joked that Jimmy Kimmel and
Jimmy Fallon would possibly be “next.” The funny part is that both of them are already signed for years ahead, just like Meyers.
Meyers often jokes about Trump on his show. He recently said Trump’s campaign promises are like pretending to enjoy apple picking on a date, which is something you only do to look good.
Even with the shots coming his way, Seth Meyers has admitted he’s more worried about the changing future of late-night TV than anything else. However, he still looks happy with the work he’s done and the name he’s built for himself.
