Jennifer Gwynne has a box of surprisingly valuable odds and ends.

People can change a lot between their adult lives and when you knew them in school. Some people, for instance, could go on to become one of the most prolific and wealthiest individuals in the entire world. If you happened to own anything that belonged to said individual, it would, by proxy, become pretty valuable itself. That’s the moneymaking strategy being employed by Jennifer Gwynne, ex college girlfriend of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Gwynne, who dated Musk in 1994 during their time as dorm advisors at the University of Pennsylvania, is auctioning off a series of odds and ends from their relationship via RR Auction. The offered items include various photos of Musk in his young adult years, as well as various presents shared between the two. One of the most valuable items of the bunch is a birthday card to Gwynne signed by Musk, which is ballparked at a value of $10,000. Another item of interest is a gold and emerald necklace given to Gwynne as a birthday gift.

“When we went to visit Elon’s mother in Toronto during the Christmas break of 1994, Elon gave me both the small ‘love, love, love’ note and the necklace,” Gwynne said in a statement from RR. “His mom had a number of these necklaces in a case in her bedroom, and Elon told me they were from his father’s emerald mine in South Africa — he pulled one from the case. And because I had not gotten him anything as a Christmas gift (and I felt very guilty about that), he said we would consider the necklace an early birthday present for me.”

“I wore the necklace for a number of years on and off, but it’s mostly been in my jewelry box for the last ten years (always reminding me of Elon, of course).”

The auction for the items is ongoing, and is set to end this Wednesday.
