Jason Bateman recently shared some insight into his relationship with his sister, Justine Bateman. While both have been in Hollywood since they were kids, Jason said they “don’t see each other a ton.” He made it clear that it is not because of any fight or drama.
Jason explained that they don’t follow the usual family routine of meeting every holiday. “We don’t do the typical Thanksgiving or Christmas gatherings with the kids playing together,” he said. Instead, he said their talks are more meaningful, like the kind you have with a close adult friend, not the usual back-and-forth arguments siblings sometimes have.
Jason, 56, and his wife Amanda Anka have two children. Justine, 59, and her husband Mark Fluent also have two kids. Jason said that he and Justine respect each other as individuals. “We hang out, and we’re nice to each other because we respect one another as individuals regardless of the blood thing. I’m seeing her for lunch upcoming week,” he added.
Both siblings started their acting careers very young. Jason appeared on Little House on the Prairie before becoming a well-known actor and director. Justine became famous as Mallory Keaton on Family Ties and later moved into filmmaking.
Over the years, they have addressed rumors about conflicts. Jason once called their bond “healthy” and said that sibling relationships should be earned as adults. Justine has also made it clear that any talk about political disagreements between them is not true.
Even though they do not see each other all the time, Jason and Justine share a strong and respectful bond. Their relationship shows that siblings can have a close connection without needing to meet constantly or follow traditional family routines.
