Now that’s a win for all the Bridgerton fans out there. Jonathan Bailey has officially been crowned PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2025.
The 37-year-old actor, known for his charming looks and down-to-earth personality, shared his excitement with the magazine. “It’s a huge honor. Obviously I’m incredibly flattered. And it’s completely absurd,” he said with a laugh.
Bailey also made history by becoming the first openly gay man to receive this title. Talking about his journey, he opened up about learning to feel confident in his own skin again. “When I was really young, I was very confident about who I was, and maybe I lost that as I grew up. We’re all trying to get back to that version of ourselves,” he said.

The big reveal happened on The Tonight Show, followed by a wave of love and support from his Wicked co-stars. The film’s director, Jon M. Chu, and actors Ariana Grande and Jeff Goldblum joined in the fun, wearing shirts with Bailey’s PEOPLE cover photo. Ariana called him “the kindest and most brilliant,” while Jeff joked that Bailey is “the sexiest man in the universe.”

Jonathan’s charm isn’t new to fans. He won hearts as Anthony Bridgerton in Netflix’s hit show Bridgerton and impressed audiences as Fiyero in Wicked. He will return in the upcoming sequel Wicked: For Good, releasing in November 2025.
With this honor, Bailey joins the list of stars like Chris Evans, Michael B. Jordan, and John Krasinski who have held the same title. PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive 2025 issue hits newsstands this Friday.
