Swift simply cannot be stopped.
Taylor Swift has been on an absolute rampage this year (in a good way). Her most recent album, “Folklore,” was surprised released several months ago to much applause, and just recently, she surprise-released an entire concert film detailing how that album was created. Swift just keeps on throwing pleasant surprises at us, and apparently, she hasn’t even run out of them yet.
Swift announced on her Instagram today that she has yet another surprise for us: an entirely new album, titled “evermore.” Apparently, the songs on “evermore” were created while she and her crew were coming up with songs for “Folklore,” making it a “sister-album” of sorts.
“To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs,” Swift explained. “To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.”
“I loved the escapism I found in these imaginary/not imaginary tales. I loved the ways you welcomed the dreamscapes and tragedies and epic tales of love lost and found into your lives. So I just kept writing them.”
As with her other surprise releases, “evermore” will be releasing tonight at midnight Eastern time. Digital copies of the album come with a sixteen-page digital photobook, while the limited edition physical release comes with two extra songs. Alongside the album’s release, Swift will be unveiling a music video for “willow,” the first track on the list. Prior to the video’s release, Swift will be hosting a brief virtual Q&A with fans.
