Kansas City Chiefs’ star shares his attempt to connect with the pop sensation.
During one of her Eras Tour concerts, Kansas City Chiefs star player Travis Kelce recently opened up about his amusing attempt to connect with pop sensation Taylor Swift. Speaking on the New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles, Travis shared the story of how he tried to slip Swift a special friendship bracelet he had made just for her.
While attending one of Taylor Swift’s electrifying concerts, Travis was eager to have a personal interaction with the singer. However, he expressed his disappointment: “I was disappointed that she doesn’t talk before or after her shows because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings.” This meant that Travis couldn’t fulfill his wish to hand her the bracelet he had carefully crafted.
The friendship bracelet tradition at Taylor Swift concerts is no secret to devoted fans, affectionately known as Swifties. During these shows, fans exchange colorful bracelets as tokens of friendship. Being a fan, Travis not only received several of these bracelets but also decided to take it a step further by making one with a special touch – he intended to include his contact information on the bracelet.

When quizzed by his brother, Jason, about what exactly he meant by “your number,” Travis playfully alluded to the possibility of including his phone number on the bracelet. However, it was more likely a reference to his jersey number, #87, which is famously associated with him on the football field.
Regrettably, for Travis, his plan to meet Taylor Swift and present her with the unique bracelet did not come to fruition. There were no meet-and-greets arranged, not even for Super Bowl winners like Travis. Reflecting on the situation, Travis jokingly mentioned, “She doesn’t meet anybody, or at least she didn’t want to meet me, so I took it personally.”
Adding a light-hearted touch to the conversation, Jason teased his younger brother by suggesting, “She probably hasn’t gotten over the Super Bowl yet; she’s a big Eagles fan. Maybe she just made something up and just didn’t want to talk to you.”
