Another Award Awaits Emma Stone

Fresh off her surprising Oscar win for her role in “Poor Things,” Emma Stone is set to reunite with director Yorgos Lanthimos for their third collaboration, “Kinds of Kindness,” slated to hit theaters on June 21, Searchlight Pictures announced today.

Stone, who received critical acclaim and an Oscar nomination for her performance in Lanthimos’ “The Favourite,” will lead the cast alongside returning actors Willem Dafoe and Margaret Qualley. Jesse Plemons, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie, and Hunter Schafer join them.

While details about the plot of “Kinds of Kindness” remain under wraps, Dafoe teased in a previous interview that one scene involves Stone slapping him in the face. Despite the physicality of the scene, Dafoe expressed admiration for Stone’s commitment to the role, recounting that she insisted on performing the action multiple times.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly last year, Lanthimos praised Stone’s dedication to her craft and her involvement in the filmmaking process, which led to her taking on the role of producer for “Poor Things.”

“Emma is a very unique presence overall,” Lanthimos said. “She became very fascinated with every aspect of the film. So that’s also how she ended up being a producer on the film because she was onboard so early on and involved in every aspect of it.”

“Kinds of Kindness” marks the continuation of a successful creative partnership between Stone and Lanthimos, with audiences eagerly anticipating their latest collaboration.
