Brooke Hogan has finally explained why she didn’t attend the funeral of her father, Hulk Hogan. She shared deeply personal reasons with her fans on social media.
The WWE legend Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, passed away on July 24, 2025, at his home in Clearwater, Florida. He was laid to rest in a funeral ceremony, which was held at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Many close family members and friends attended the funeral ceremony to say goodbye, but her daughter, Brooke Hogan, was absent.
In an Instagram post, she shared that her decision to not attend the funeral was purely made from the heart.
“My father hated the morbidity of funerals. He didn’t want one,” she wrote on Instagram. “As his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how… privately.”
Her Instagram post had multiple images in which she was along with her husband (Steven Oleksy) and their twin babies, Oliver and Molly, at the beach. It is a place her father loved a lot. She wrote, “The only thing missing today was him in is pop-up lawn chair watching the waves… and the sunset 💔.”
She described those moments as spiritual and peaceful. She said, “We love you and honor the things that made you so special. Every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby.”
Later that day, Brooke Hogan appeared on the Bubba the Love Sponge Show. When questioned, she revealed her concerns regarding how her father died. She expressed she didn’t understand why no autopsy was performed and also mentioned she didn’t even know about his disease, leukemia. These concerns left her more confused and with more questions than answers.
