Sherri Shepherd is sharing a very personal and funny story about her faith, her health, and her love for frozen yogurt.

The actress and talk show host recently appeared on The Jamie Kern Lima Show where she opened up about hearing what she believes was the voice of God, and it sounded a lot like legendary singer Barry White.

Shepherd explained that she was going through a serious frozen yogurt obsession when the moment happened. She admitted that her friend Niecy Nash introduced her to Pinkberry, and she couldn’t get enough of it. But as someone living with type 2 diabetes, the sugar was becoming a real problem.

“One day I heard a voice as clear as day saying, ‘No more Pinkberry,’” Shepherd recalled. “It scared me so much, but I knew it was serious.” She said the voice was deep and smooth, just like the voice of Barry White. She said that that voice was enough to make her stop eating frozen yogurt for four years.

Shepherd believes it was a spiritual warning that helped protect her health. “It was really just like, ‘You’re going to die if you keep taking as much sugar as you are taking,’” she explained.

This isn’t the first time Shepherd has spoken about her faith guiding her life. She has shared many other moments where she felt that the voice of God pushed her to make big decisions; leaving The View in 2014 was one of the examples.
