It’s been 20+ years since Rose Byrne first appeared in ‘Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones,’ and now she says she’s ready for a comeback. In a recent episode of the ‘Happy Sad Confused’ podcast, the actress talked about her amazing experience and hoped for a return.
“To be even a microscopic part of the Star Wars universe is so sweet. It is really wonderful to still be a part of something that deeply connects with people even after all these years,” Byrne said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
True Star Wars heads will never forget the small role of Rose Byrne in Attack of the Clones. She played Dormé, who is one of Padmé Amidala’s (Natalie Portman) loyal handmaidens. Dormé uttered only “one or two lines,” according to the actress, before she left the screen.
Byrne, now 46, said she’s come to appreciate her connection to the franchise even more over time. “I’m ready! No one’s called. Maybe after this, they will,” she said with a laugh. She hinted that she wouldn’t think twice if Lucasfilm came knocking.
Her comments come just as Star Wars is preparing for a new wave of movies. Director Simon Kinberg is working on a fresh trilogy set outside the Skywalker storyline, while Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy is teaming up with Ryan Gosling for a 2027 release called Starfighter.
It’s not sure that Byrne’s Dormé will return or not, but her fans love her enthusiasm. After all, it’s not every day that someone from the prequel era is ready to step back into a galaxy far, far away.
