Prepare for the start of a new season and a brand new adventure; “This is the way.”
The next installment of the insanely popular series The Mandalorian will begin streaming on Disney+ on October 30, according to Lucasfilm and The Walt Disney Company.
The show, set after the fall of the Empire, but before the rise of the First Order (five years after the events of Return of the Jedi and 25 years prior to the events of The Force Awakens) follows a bounty hunter (played by Pedro Pascal) named Din Djarin seeking to make a living with his blasters and wits in a near-lawless frontier of the New Republic. The first season saw the Mandalorian take a job in exchange for a bounty, offered by “The Client.” After realizing how powerful and how young the package was, the bounty hunter, sometimes referred to as “Mando,” rescues “The Child.” Now both Mando and “The Child” are being targeted by other bounty hunters.
The Mandalorian Season 1 premiered with eight episodes and was met with many positive reviews from critics, earning praise for its acting, writing, musical score, and visual effects. The Mandalorian was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series and also received 15 Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards nominations.
The Mandalorian was also the first live-action Star Wars series to be released.
Fans have been eagerly waiting to the release of the second season not only for the storyline, but for the exciting new characters that Disney and Lucasfilm confirmed for the second season. Ahsoka Tano, Bo-Katan and Boba Fett are all confirmed to make an appearance in the show, and now there is a rumor going around that an Empire Strikes Back favorite is also set to show up in the series down the line.
