Carrey said he’s looking to make a change, starting with where he lives.

Veteran actor Jim Carrey, well known for his classic roles in drama and comedy films as well as recent appearances in films like Sonic the Hedgehog, has lived in a large home in Los Angeles since 1994. Originally purchased for $3.8 million, Carrey has decided to list the home for sale as he’s looking to make a change in his life.

“For three decades it’s been a sanctuary for me but I don’t spend a lot of time there now and I want someone else to enjoy it like I have,” Carrey told the New York Post. “Cha cha cha cha … Changes!”

In a separate statement to the Wall Street Journal, Carrey described his home as “a place of enchantment and inspiration” for “30 very creative and prosperous years.”

“Every night the owls sang me lullabies and every morning I sipped my cup of joe with the hawks and hummingbirds, under a giant grandfather pine,” he said.

The five bedroom, nine bathroom home has gone onto the market for $28.9 million, where it is being managed by Sotheby’s International Realty – Santa Monica-Venice Brokerage. As for Carrey, he has not divulged where he is planning on going once he leaves his LA home.
