Former World Superbike Star Receiving Palliative Care After Illness

Renowned motorcycle racer Anthony Gobert, known for his exceptional career in the 1990s, is currently in the final stages of his life at the age of 48. Gobert, a prominent figure in the motorcycle racing world, is receiving palliative care after a brief illness.

Throughout his illustrious career, Gobert achieved numerous accolades, including victories in the World Superbike Championship and the Australian Superbike and Supercross championships. His remarkable talent led to 11 victories in the World Superbike Championship, with a notable fourth-place finish in 1995. Gobert also made several appearances in the MotoGP series between 1997 and 2000, consistently showcasing his skill with top-ten finishes.

Despite his successes, Gobert faced challenges, including a dismissal from the Suzuki team in 1997 after failing a drug test. Despite this setback, Gobert’s contributions to the sport remain significant.

Aaron Gobert, Anthony’s brother, shared the news on social media, stating, “It is with sadness that we have to announce that Anthony is currently hospitalized in palliative care and is in the final stages of his life following a short illness – please be aware that we will provide any available updates in due course.”
