Talk about bonding over ex-boyfriends.
By now, you have probably heard Selena Gomez’s latest song “Lose You to Love Me,” a song that describes the singer’s longtime on-off relationship with Justin Bieber. The two finally called it quits in March 2018, to which Bieber, 25, shortly confirmed later that he was rekindling his romance with his now-wife, Hailey Baldwin. But more than that, the song was about being able to love yourself and moving on from a toxic relationship.
Singer Julia Michaels helped pen the recent single and revealed that she and Gomez were going through similar situations. The two were able to bond over their feelings, sharing that both were inspired by every day conversations in order to write the songs.
Michaels’ and Gomez’s friendship blossomed, and the two even got matching tattoos of little arrows that point to each other when they hold hands.
“It’s tatted… my arrow points to you forever,” Gomez wrote on her Instagram Story along with a photo of the two smiling and looking down at their new ink.
“Always to you baby,” Michaels responded, sharing Gomez’s original post.
The two also made headlines for sharing a full on-the-mouth kiss after performing together on stage.
