Taylor Swift has shared a very personal and emotional story from behind the scenes of her Eras Tour. During the tour, one of her background singers, Jeslyn Gorman, was diagnosed with breast cancer. The news came as a shock and deeply affected everyone on the team.

Fans first noticed Jeslyn was missing from the Eras Tour shows in Mexico City in August 2023. At the time, there was no explanation. Months later, she returned during the Australia shows in 2024. Now, Swift has finally explained what really happened in her Disney+ docuseries The End of an Era.

In the series, Taylor talks about how hard that moment was for the whole tour family. She said it was the first time something truly heartbreaking happened during the tour. When Jeslyn shared her diagnosis, everything stopped. No one knew what to say. The fear and uncertainty hit everyone at once.

Jeslyn also opened up about that moment. She said when she told Taylor, the reaction was instant. Everyone hugged each other, cried together, and showed her a lot of love. Taylor’s mom also stepped in and told her to focus only on herself and her health. The tour would wait.

At first, Jeslyn tried to keep going. She flew back to Los Angeles between shows for tests and appointments. She would come back, step on stage, and perform like nothing was wrong. After some time, she realized she needed to step away and focus on herself. She spent six months going through chemotherapy and surgery. The treatment was tough. She lost most of her hair and dealt with several side effects. Watching her friends perform through livestreams was especially hard.

What surprised everyone was her return. Right after finishing treatment, Jeslyn came back to the Eras Tour. Taylor said she still cannot believe the strength it took to return and perform such a demanding show.

The first four episodes of The End of an Era are now streaming on Disney+.
