Season 2 of The Umbrella Academy will premiere on Friday, July 31, according to Netflix. The second season will have 10 one-hour episodes, all of which will drop at the same time, making for one binge-worthy day or night.
The show is based on the comic books by Gerard Way, The Umbrella Academy. The story takes place after some bizarre events in 1989 in which 43 infants were inexplicably born on the same day to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy. Seven of these children were adopted by a billionaire who created The Umbrella Academy to prepare his “children” to save the world from a looming global apocalypse.

Season 2 has added three new cast members to play the characters of Raymond, a smart and confident leader, Sissy, a no-nonsense Texas mom, and Lila, a mischievous “chameleon.” They will be played by Yusuf Gatewood, Marin Ireland, and Ritu Arya, respectively.
The new additions will join forces with the returning characters, (Vanya, Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Number Five and Ben), and must work together to solve a mystery surrounding the billionaire’s demise while preparing for the danger of the upcoming apocalypse.
