No episode will be less than an hour long.

This Friday, May 27, will see the premier of the second-to-last season of Netflix’s hit horror-mystery series Stranger Things. In the months leading up to this premier, the creators of the show have repeatedly stated that this will be their biggest, most ambitious production yet, with each episode the season’s nine-episode run almost like a movie in itself. As it turns out, this was not an exaggeration.

Ahead of the release, the runtimes for each of the new episodes have been publicly released, and, well, hopefully you’ve got a lot of time to watch TV this weekend, because none of them are less than an hour long.

Here’s the full list of the episodes, their runtimes, and their premier dates:

May 27

  • Episode 1 – 1 hour, 16 minutes
  • Episode 2 – 1 hour, 15 minutes
  • Episode 3 – 1 hour, 3 minutes
  • Episode 4 – 1 hour, 17 minutes
  • Episode 5 – 1 hour, 14 minutes
  • Episode 6 – 1 hour, 13 minutes
  • Episode 7 – 1 hour 38 minutes

July 1

  • Episode 8 – 1 hour, 25 minutes
  • Episode 9 – 2 hours, 30 minutes

While watching this much television in a short span sounds daunting, apparently it’s worth it. Initial reviews for the first volume of episodes, encompassing episodes 1 to 7, are quite positive, with the new season maintaining a 90% critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes at the time of writing.

“In a remarkably plotted and well-paced fourth season, Stranger Things marks a new level of sophistication in its technical and creative visions,” writes Inverse critic Eric Francisco. “This is not just another season of a popular TV show, but a piece of mainstream art with something to say.”
