Coca-Cola Starlight is the brand’s newest offering.
In years past, when Coke released new flavors of its flagship beverage, they’d opt for simple, understandable changes such as vanilla, cherry, and other assorted fruit flavors. There was also New Coke, of course, but we don’t talk about that. Yesterday, though, Coke announced another new offering, and this time they’re opting for something a little more mysterious and cosmic.
Yesterday, Coca-Cola announced the launch of their new Coke flavor, Coca-Cola Starlight, a dark red drink available in both regular and zero sugar. No, Starlight is not a flavor, at least not one that we’ve tasted, so it’s a bit tricky to discern what it’s supposed to be from just that.
“Inspired by space, Starlight was created with the vision that — in a world of infinite possibilities — somewhere in our universe, another kind of Coca-Cola, another way of connecting with each other might exist,” Coke said in a press release. “It aims to bring space to life through a simple sip, capturing some of the mystery and essence of what we love about what lies beyond our atmosphere.”
As for how it’s supposed to taste, Coke’s press release says that it features “notes reminiscent of stargazing around a campfire, as well as a cooling sensation that evokes the feeling of a cold journey to space.”
Coke's new flavor is out of this world.
At least, that's the idea behind Coca-Cola Starlight, a new limited-edition version of the classic soda that comes in regular and zero sugar. https://t.co/ylmahQD8kn

Early tasters of the drink have compared the initial taste to a sweeter version of regular coke, with an aftertaste not dissimilar to chocolate and graham crackers.
To promote the drink’s release, Coke will be hosting a holographic concert starring performer Ava Max. The concert can be accessed through a QR code found on Coca-Cola Starlight labels and packaging.
