Queen B with Another Hit!
Beyoncé has shattered records once again, becoming the first Black woman to claim the top spot on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart with her latest release, “Cowboy Carter.”
Released on March 29, the album quickly soared to No. 1 on multiple charts, including the Billboard 200, Americana/Folk Albums, and Top Album Sales, with an impressive 407,000 equivalent album units sold in its debut week.
“Cowboy Carter” features collaborations with country legends like Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson, as well as rising Black country artists, marking a significant milestone in the genre’s evolution.
Despite some skepticism from traditionalists, Beyoncé’s bold venture into country music has received praise from icons like Carlene Carter, daughter of June Carter Cash, who welcomed the artist into the Carter family tradition of pushing musical boundaries.
The lead single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” also made history by claiming the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Country Songs chart, further solidifying Beyoncé’s groundbreaking impact on the country music scene.
