Bob Harper, the longtime trainer and The Biggest Loser cohost, has recently disclosed that his former costar Jillian Michaels stayed silent and didn’t reach out after he suffered a heart attack in 2017.

In an interview with The Guardian, Harper shared that he and Michaels were not best friends, but they had worked closely for 12 seasons of the popular TV series, The Biggest Loser.

“We weren’t best friends, but we were partners on a television show for a very long time,” Bob Harper said. He also expressed that Michaels’ silence during such a difficult time in his life “spoke volumes to me.” He added, “I would not expect Jillian Michaels to do anything other than what she wants to do.”

Harper’s heart attack, which he has termed as a “widowmaker,” actually happened three years after Jillian Michaels left the show. Harpe said that he went into full cardiac arrest at the gym, and because two doctors were there at the gym. It is the reason he survived.

“Not to be dramatic, but I was dead,” he recalled.

The Biggest Loser ended in 2020 after 18 seasons. However, both Harper and Michaels were the leading and prominent faces of the series. They are popular because they used to push the show’s contestants through intense physical and mental challenges.

The Biggest Loser has faced criticism over the past few years because of its intense weight-loss processes and the treatment of contestants. Its legacy will be examined in Netflix’s upcoming documentary, whose name is ‘Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser.’

Harper has been working in fitness and television. On the other hand, Michaels is now into media commentary. Recently, she sparked controversy with remarks that defended President Donald Trump’s stance on particular museum exhibitions.
