Popeyes’ sold-out Chicken Sandwiches are returning to restaurants in November. The CEO of Sun Holdings, Inc., which owns and operates 149 Popeyes restaurants across Florida, Texas and Oklahoma, confirmed that the sandwich will be returning early next month.
Popeyes originally debuted the sandwich on Aug. 12, causing a stir nationwide with people comparing the sandwich to other franchise sandwiches such as Chick-fil-A and Wendy’s. The Chicken Sandwich is a breaded chicken filet on a brioche bun with pickles and either mayo or spicy Cajun spread. It sold out within two weeks when it debuted.
In preparation for the relaunch, Popeyes restaurants are looking to hire two new employees per store, specifically on sandwich duty. Hiring is left up to individual franchisees, but many are looking to boost their staff as they are expectant of large crowds. The first time the sandwich debuted, franchises were not ready and employees could not keep up with the extreme demand.
There is no word on the exact date the sandwich will return to restaurants, but people nationwide are preparing their stomachs in anticipation.
