Best friends in real life and “The Office” alums Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey came up with the idea to host an “Office” podcast so that they could work together again. Needless to say, fans are all for it and are happy to see the return of the two actresses.
“The Office” — a workplace sitcom that debuted in 2005 and was adapted from Ricky Gervais’s crueler British mockumentary series — still has a cult following, with many dedicated fans watching reruns and spending money on merch.
It has even become Netflix’s most watched show, clocking in at 45.8 billion viewing minutes last year, according to Nielsen.
Jenna Fischer played Pam Beesly, the front desk receptionist at the fictional paper company Dunder Mifflin, and Angela Kinsey played Angela Martin, the no-nonsense head of accounting and future Mrs. Dwight Schrute.
The two actresses came up with the idea to start a rewatch podcast full of their behind-the-scenes insights and best friend chats. The podcast is featured on podcast network Earwolf and officially debuted on Set. 17. It has since become the No. 1 podcast on Apple charts and the first episode already has more than 6,000 five-star reviews.
