The holiday menu is back, but with an unfortunate omission.

Starbucks unveiled its U.S. holiday menu on Wednesday, bringing back many seasonal fan favorites such as the Peppermint Mocha, the Toasted White Chocolate Mocha and the Caramel Brulée Latte. However, fans of the coffee chain were quick to notice that one of its specials was absent from the list: the Gingerbread Latte.

Starbucks later announced that the Gingerbread Latte would no longer be available in the U.S. and as a result, a bunch of die-hard fans took to social media to express their sadness and anger. One customer even set up a petition urging Starbucks to bring back their “beloved drink.”

Starbucks responded to angry fans on Twitter by suggesting alternatives to the drink in an effort to ease the complaints.

“Gingerbread Latte is only available in Canada this year, but you can still enjoy our Gingerbread Loaf with any holiday beverage!” tweeted the coffee chain.

But customers were still unhappy and have been taking to rival chain Dunkin’ Donuts, which offers up its own version of the hot drink. Called the Toasted Gingerbread Signature Latte, the Dunkin’ specialty drink features the flavors of gingerbread, marshmallow and chocolate, topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle and cinnamon sugar.
