EXILE AKIRA has been a brand ambassador for Ralph Lauren since 2017, but his status has upgraded.

EXILE AKIRA now joins world famous actors such as Johnny Depp (Dior), Keanu Reeves (Saint Laurent), and Jude Law (Dunhill) in modeling for a fashion brand on the global scale.

Since the brand’s approval of the decision, AKIRA’s Ralph Lauren campaign sits in front of Los Angeles’ famed Chateau Marmont hotel, and more billboards and magazine ads are expected to hit the global market soon in Europe and Asia.

This is a big deal not only for fans but for the fashion company. Akira is the first Asian male model to globally represent the American fashion house.

Akira is a 36-year-old Japanese actor and performer of J-Pop group EXILE. The 19 member Japanese boy band debuted in 2001 and went on to sell over 20 million records in Japan alone. Akira is a member of Exile The Second, or second generation. His band members include Kenchi, Keiji, Tetsuya, Nesmith, and Shokichi. The members of The Second debuted in 2007 as members of Nidaime J Soul Brothers before joining the main group Exile in 2009.
