The 25-year-old YouTube star that began creating makeup tutorials online over a decade ago uploaded a very personal message to her fans.

On Monday, makeup artist and beauty vlogger Nikkie de Jager revealed that she is transgender, adding that she was making the announcement under the threat of blackmail and instead wanted to tell fans herself.

The 17-minute video titled “I’m Coming Out,” was posted to her YouTube Channel.

She starts out by saying, “Today I am here to share something with you that I’ve always wanted to share with you one day, but under my own circumstances, and it looks like that chance has been taken away from me. So today, I am taking back my own power and I have to tell you something.”

Nikkie continues to say that she has always wanted to be her own person without any labels, opening up about her childhood and explain how she has always identified as a woman growing up. She also shared that she fully transitioned by the age of 19.

Nikkie also told her fans that people have been blackmailing her, threatening to leak her story to the press.

NikkieTutorials, which has amassed over 12 million subscribers, got over eight million views alone for her “Coming Out” video.
