Adam Carolla has strong opinions about Ellen DeGeneres, and they are not positive.

Comedian and podcast host Adam Carolla recently talked about his extremely uncomfortable experience on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. He claimed that the staff on set seemed “real scared” of the daytime TV host.

Speaking on the ‘After Party with Emily Jashinsky podcast’, Adam Carolla made a comparison of Ellen’s show with other late-night sets he had visited over the years. He said shows like ‘The Tonight Show with Jay Leno’ and ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ had quite relaxed and friendly environments. However, when he came to Ellen’s set, things felt quite tense.

“I was just sitting in my dressing room, and their segment producer came in acting super nervous,” Adam Carolla recalled. The producer checked the list of approved topics and was especially worried about one thing: meat.

Carolla said he was asked many times to please not mention anything related to beef. “He came back again 20 minutes later and repeated, ‘Don’t talk about beef or meat,’” Carolla said.  According to the situation, it was clear that the staff was walking on eggshells.

Carolla is of the view that this fear came from the top. “I could tell they were scared. That’s not normal,” he said.

Adam Carolla also claimed that he spoke to the show’s writer off the record, and he confirmed his suspicions. The writer allegedly said that he found DeGeneres to be the “worst person I’ve ever met.” He didn’t reveal the names due to NDAs.

These claims come to the limelight after years of controversy about The Ellen DeGeneres Show. Back in 2020, former employees also claimed that the show had a toxic work culture, racism, and strict rules.
