Taylor Swift Releases Star-Studded Music Video

“You Need To Calm Down” Celeb Cameos

Everyone’s favorite girl next door singer is back with a hot new music video release and it’s littered with all sorts of famous faces.

Taylor Swift officially dropped her music video for “You Need To Calm Down,” and much like her other music videos, this one is chock-full of innuendo, metaphors, and hidden Easter eggs. Swift’s new song is meant to act as an anthem for anyone who has felt a patronized or has been told to “calm down” in any sort of condescending way. But the antithesis of the music video, which is celebrated, is acceptance.

The song itself is a synth-heavy pop tune, and opens with Cher’s voice saying “Mom, I am a rich man.” The line is an iconic reference to when Cher uttered the line to her mother, who suggested she marry a rich man and settle down.

The music video then moves to a trailer park that is filled with celebrities, most of them who are part or support the LGBTQ community. Laverne Cox, Dexter Mayfield, and Hannah Hart all make an appearance. Also included in the music video are Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Justin Mikita, Ciara, Hayley Kiyoko, Chester Lockhart, and even RuPaul. The “Queer Eye” guys, Todrick Hall, Ryan Renolds, Olympic skater Adam Ripon, Ellen DeGeneres, Adam Lambert, and Billy Porter are also some other iconic faces that make an appearance.
