‘That 70s Show’ Cast to Return for ‘That 90s Show’

During the recent Netflix Is A Joke comedy festival, the streaming service announced that their latest project is a somewhat-modern revival of the classic sitcom series, That 70s Show. As the series takes place 20 years after the original show ended, it has been aptly titled That 90s Show.

Alongside the announcement of the show itself, Netflix revealed that they have successfully negotiated for the return of nearly the entire original cast, including Topher Grace, Laura Prepon, Ashton Kutcher, Mila Kunis, Wilmer Valderrama, Kurtwood Smith, and Debra Jo Rupp. The only one confirmed to be absent from the return is Danny Masterson, who played the character of Hyde, as Masterson is currently facing multiple sexual assault allegations.

While all of the original cast is returning, only Smith and Rupp will be recurring characters as Red and Kitty Forman, with the other alumni making cameo appearances throughout the series. That 90s Show focuses on Eric and Donna’s daughter, Leia Forman, played by Callie Haverda, who is visiting her grandparents for the summer in the 90s. Here, she’ll meet the children of the rest of the Point Place gang, all while Red and Kitty supervise.

The show has been greenlit for a 10-episode run on Netflix, though a precise release date has not yet been given. The original series creators, Bonnie and Terry Turner, alongside their daughter Lindsey Turner, are serving as head writers and executive producers. Interestingly, this is actually the second attempt at a That 70s Show revival, as Fox previously aired That 80s Show back in 2002, though this series was cancelled after one season due to low ratings.
