Midge is ready to take the stage once again.

Goodness gracious, has it been two years since the third season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel already? You’d think, out of all the things we’d be losing track of in the nebulous time warp that’s been the pandemic, streaming show seasons and schedules wouldn’t be one of them, but yes, it’s been two years since Midge was kicked off Shy Baldwin’s tour in 2019. But after a lot of waiting, it’s time for the headstrong comedian to start building up a name for herself once again, no matter who or what stands in her way.

Today, Amazon Prime released a teaser trailer for the fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, set to begin streaming on Prime Video in 2022. Unlike the previous seasons, which released in a bingable batch format, this season will be going for the classic weekly episode release, with two new episodes releasing every Friday for about the span of a month.

“It’s 1960 and change is in the air,” the teaser description reads. “Looking to hone her act, Midge finds a gig with total creative freedom. But her commitment to her craft—and the places it takes her—creates a rift between her and the family and friends around her.”

The new season will pick up not too long after where the third season left off. After being kicked off of Shy Baldwin’s tour for making jokes about his sexuality, Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) and Susie (Alex Borstein) are once again back to square one. Frustrated with being censored, Midge makes a bold proclamation: she refuses to do any more opening acts. She’ll only accept a booking where she can be the star, and where she can joke about whatever she wants. Susie says that’s not how the business works, to which Midge replies, “then let’s change the business.”

The fourth season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel will premier on Prime Video on February 18, 2022.
