The Sanderson sisters have returned… again.
1993’s Hocus Pocus is one of Disney’s most beloved cult-classic films. The film starred Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as a trio of witches summoned from beyond the grave in Salem, Massachusetts to wreak havoc upon the town. Though they were defeated the first time around, it seems you can’t keep a good witch down (or a bad witch, as the case may be).
Disney released the first teaser trailer for Hocus Pocus 2 today, giving us a brief glimpse of the film’s new mains and the Sanderson sisters in fully witchy makeup and outfits. This new film, directed by Anne Fletcher, follows two young girls with an affinity for witchcraft who inadvertently summon the sisters once again on Halloween Night. In addition to Middler, Parker, and Najimy, the film stars Hannah Waddingham, Tony Hale, Sam Richardson, Doug Jones, and Whitney Peak.
Disney has been quietly promoting this film since last year, with the Sanderson sisters making appearances at various spooky events in full costume to drop hints. One of the stars, Tony Hale, spoke to Variety back in December about working with the witchy trio.

“Another surreal experience. That movie is a Halloween classic, and meeting Bette, and Sarah Jessica and Kathy Najimy, who was on ‘Veep’ with me… it was really fun,” Hale said.
Hocus Pocus 2 will be streaming on Disney+ on September 30, just in time for the start of the spooky season.
