Miles Morales will return to the big screen!

Sony Pictures’ highly anticipated and much demanded sequel to 2018’s Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse officially has a release date: April 8th, 2022. The production company tweeted out the announcement with a glitchy video featuring a warped Spider-Man logo and the year 2022. Even executive producer Amy Pascal has said that Sony is committed to producing a sequel, and that the company is already hard work doing so.

Fans are super excited for the sequel because Morales and the Spider-Verse represent a future for the character within the larger Sony Spider-Man universe. The movie is also largely regarded as one of the best Spider-Man movies of all time because of the overall storyline, the graphics and animation, the music and more.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse featured lots of Marvel characters aside from Miles Morales (Shameik Moore); others included Spider-Gwen (Hailee Steinfeld), Spider-Man Noir (Nic Cage), Spider-Ham (John Mulaney), and Peter Parker (Jake Johnson).

In other Spider-Man news, Sony and Disney are working on a third Peter Parker-starring Spider-Man movie starring Tom Holland, as well as films that will feature Spider-Man within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This comes after a long and worrisome dispute between the two companies over the rights to the Marvel character.
