Rapper Tyga Files for Full Custody Amidst Co-Parenting Dispute

Tyga, whose real name is Michael Stevenson, has recently filed court documents in Los Angeles, petitioning for full legal and physical custody of his 11-year-old son, King Cairo. King Cairo is the child of Tyga and his former partner, Blac Chyna.

In the court documents, Tyga has proposed that Chyna be granted child visitation rights, specifically requesting that she spend time with King every Friday after school until Sunday at 5 p.m. Regarding holiday arrangements, Tyga has suggested that these be determined based on the mutual agreement of both parties.

In response to Tyga’s legal filing, Chyna, whose real name is Angela White, expressed her surprise at the request. She emphasized her respect for Tyga as King’s father and their shared love for their child. Chyna believes that it is not in King’s best interest for her to be distanced from his life, expressing her desire for both her and Tyga to be supportive, loving co-parents equally involved in King’s upbringing.

This legal dispute began over the summer when Chyna sought joint custody of King, filing papers on July 24 to “determine parental relationship.” Tyga publicly commented on the situation in August, urging adherence to their established schedule.

Prior to the legal proceedings, Chyna revealed on the May 18 episode of Revolt’s Caresha Please that she primarily communicated with Tyga “through the nannies.” The former couple called off their engagement in 2014, two years after the birth of King Cairo.

Over the past year, Chyna has undergone a personal transformation journey, which included her baptism and the removal of facial fillers. In the past month, she introduced her new romance with songwriter Derrick Milano, celebrating one year of sobriety.

Chyna marked her sobriety milestone with an Instagram post on September 15, where she reflected on the personal growth she has experienced. She expressed her determination to continue practicing sobriety and underlined her unwavering qualities as a mother and friend.

The legal proceedings will continue to unfold as both Tyga and Chyna navigate the complexities of co-parenting their son, King Cairo.
