Wendy’s is Giving Out a Free Frosty with Drive-Thru Orders

Which flavor will you choose?

On Monday, Wendy’s confirmed that it would be giving away a free Jr. Frosty, chocolate or vanilla, with every drive-thru order, beginning that day. The promotion will run for a limited time, according to the chain.

Wendy’s, like many other restaurant and food businesses, has suspended all dine-in services amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Although, drive-thru and carryout service is still available, depending on location. Food is also available through delivery on apps such as DoorDash, Grubhub and Postmates.

Todd Penegor, Wendy’s president and CEO, said in a statement, “[W]e are doing everything possible to keep our restaurants open, while following public health guidance and the evolving guidelines from national, state and local governments.”

The Wendy’s Frosty has been around since 1969. The frozen dairy dessert was one of the first five menu items— which included hamburgers, chili, French fries and soft drinks— put in place at the first-ever Wendy’s restaurant. The frozen dessert become a popular item since then, and now, Wendy’s serves over 200 million Frostys each year.
