Thanks to shows like Botched and scary moments like Cardi B’s hospitalization after recent plastic surgery, it was easy to see all the things that could go wrong when trying to alter the way you look. But what if something that appears to be a bit strange is actually what the patient is going for?
Recently, a trend occurring in plastic surgery has our eyes and minds a bit boggled. It was revealed that a recurring trend happening in the United States is nipple surgery to shrink your nipples in order to opt for small, “pointy” nipples, perfecting the “free the nipple” movement that has been backed by celebrities and street fashion alike.
It seems this trend is most popular for women under the age of 25, and it is likely inspired by celebrities seeming more comfortable with publicly sharing parts of their body (for example, their nipples). Some of these sources of inspiration include Rihanna, Emily Ratajkowski, Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Hailey Bieber, Cara Delevingne, and many others.
