Prince Harry and Meghan Markle make an appearance at the celebration of Bob Marley’s musical legacy.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, made a glamorous appearance on the red carpet in Kingston, Jamaica, for the premiere of the highly-anticipated Bob Marley biopic, “One Love.”

The royal couple looked relaxed and held hands as they posed for photographs at the Carib Theatre. Meghan, 42, radiated elegance in a black floor-length gown with slicked-back hair, smiling and laughing alongside Brian Robbins, CEO of Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon, and Andrew Holness, the Jamaican prime minister.

In March 2022, Prime Minister Holness, during an official visit by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, expressed the country’s readiness to sever ties with the British monarchy and remove the late Queen as the head of state. The premiere of “One Love” marks a significant moment for Jamaica, as Prime Minister Holness emphasized the enduring impact of Bob Marley’s music in connecting people globally.

“The premiere of the Bob Marley: One Love Movie in Jamaica signifies a momentous occasion for our nation and the global community,” posted Prime Minister Holness on social media platform X. “Bob Marley’s ability to connect people through his music, transcending cultural and geographical boundaries, has made him a symbol of unity and resilience.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s red carpet appearance follows Prince Harry’s recent acceptance of the Living Legend of Aviation award at a gala in Beverly Hills. The Duke’s father, the King, is scheduled for hospital admission this week for treatment of an enlarged prostate, while the Princess of Wales remains in hospital, recovering from major abdominal surgery.

Prince Harry previously made an official visit to Jamaica in 2012 during the late Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, where he danced to Marley’s “One Love” and met the legendary singer’s widow, Rita.

“Bob Marley: One Love,” set to be released in February, features British actors Kingsley Ben-Adir as Bob Marley and Lashana Lynch as Rita.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s red carpet appearance in Jamaica marks a notable return to public events for Meghan, with the last sighting at a Power of Women event in Los Angeles in November.
