The entertainment industry mourns the loss of former child star Evan Ellingson, who passed away at the age of 35 on November 5, 2023. Best known for his memorable roles in “My Sister’s Keeper” and “CSI: Miami,” Evan’s untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of his fans and colleagues.

Evan’s passing was confirmed by documents from the local San Bernardino coroner’s office, as reported by E! News on November 6. According to the report, his body was discovered in a residence in Fontana, CA, with the cause of death currently listed as “pending.”

Evan’s father, Michael, shared with TMZ that his son was found in a sober-living home and had been dealing with past struggles with substance abuse. However, he had been making positive progress in recent times. TMZ also noted that foul play is not suspected at this time.

Evan’s acting career began during his childhood, with numerous television appearances in the early 2000s. He gained widespread recognition for his role as Jesse Fitzgerald, Cameron Diaz’s eldest child, in the 2009 film “My Sister’s Keeper,” an adaptation of Jodi Picoult’s novel. Additionally, he made a lasting impact with his recurring role as Kyle Harmon, the son of David Caruso’s Horatio Caine, in “CSI: Miami,” appearing in 18 episodes over three years.

In a 2009 interview with The Philippine Star, Evan reflected on his unique upbringing as a child actor, saying, “I never had the same [childhood] experience with my friends. I never had more time with them. However, my childhood was a cool one. I was busy doing the things I love. I had no regrets because I found my passion for acting early on.”
