She started out as a child actor and made her way to the top
Moving gracefully between comedy, action, and drama, the efforts of Kirsten Dunst have long been overlooked by the entertainment industry. The 37-year-old star has been in the film industry for over two decades, and her incredible roles have finally been recognized by Hollywood as she was awarded the coveted star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Dunst is known for her roles in Spiderman, Marie Antoinette, and the Bring It On series, and her roles in shows Fargo and Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles received Emmy nominations. Her role as Justine in 2011 in Melancholia brought her multiple academy-winning titles, and she was awarded by the Screen Actors Guild for her contribution to Hidden Figures.
Her film resume is as stacked as any other sidewalk star, and her work ethic and commitment to her work are what brought her the accolade. Fiancé Jesse Plemons introduced Dunst at the ceremony filled with friends, family, and colleagues. Their 1-year-old son was also in attendance.
Dunst has previously spoken out about being overlooked in the industry and shared that there is a downside to starring in such classic films. Specifically, in regard to her time with Bring It On and Spiderman, Dunst said “I always feel like nobody—I don’t know, maybe they just think I’m the girl from ‘Bring It On,” in an interview with SiriusXM.
With the support from her fiancé and son on her big day, hopefully, the talented star feels valued for her work in Hollywood with this incredible achievement.
