Breaking two world-records over the weekend, Biles is truly on another level of skill

The 22-year-old gymnast that took the world by storm in the 2016 Olympics has done it again, breaking two separate records at this past weekend’s Women’s Gymnastics Championship in Kansas City, MO.

On Friday, Simon Biles became the first gymnast ever to successfully land a double-twist, double-somersault dismount from her beam routine. Crowds erupted as the five-time Olympic medalist stuck the landing with a small hop, with a confident smile plastered on her face.

She broke records again on Sunday as she became the first female gymnast to land a triple-double in her floor routine, with just a hair of room left in the perimeter. After falling out of the jump earlier in the week, the gravity of her record-breaking achievement was not lost on her, as she beamed through the rest of the routine.

It is no longer a question of if Biles will win when she walks into a tournament, but rather, by how much, as she won six consecutive National Championships. This past weekend, she trailed by five points.

Her unlimited potential serves as a beacon for hope for young athletes everywhere, specifically girls representing a minority in their respective sport. As one of, if not the absolute best athlete in the world right now, there is no telling what Biles will accomplish next, as the world, and the floor is hers to dominate.
