Finally, we can see who’s stronger between Superman and Shaggy.

In case the new Space Jam didn’t make it obvious, Time Warner owns a lot of properties across multiple networks and platforms. From DC Comics to the old Hanna-Barbera cartoons, it’s a safe bet that they hold dominion over at least one thing you like. With all those properties comes a litany of characters, and as is apparently becoming a norm, whenever you have ownership over a bunch of assorted beloved characters, the best course of action is to throw them all together into a big ol’ punch-up.

Warner Bros. Games, in partnership with Player First Games, has announced MultiVersus, a platformer fighting game in the same vein as Super Smash Bros. featuring a cast of characters drawn from all kinds of properties. The confirmed character list so far includes:

  • Batman
  • Superman
  • Wonder Woman
  • Harley Quinn
  • Shaggy (Scooby-Doo)
  • Bugs Bunny (Looney Tunes)
  • Arya Stark (Game of Thrones)
  • Jake the Dog (Adventure Time)
  • Finn the Human (Adventure Time)
  • Steven Universe
  • Garnet (Steven Universe)
  • Tom and Jerry
  • Reindog (Original character)

All of these characters are voiced by their longtime voice actors, including Tara Strong Harley Quinn, Kevin Conroy as Batman, Estelle as Garnet, and Jeremy Shada as Finn. And yes, if you were wondering, Shaggy has a Dragon Ball-style power-up aura, and it is incredible.

MultiVersus will feature the usual game modes, from one-on-ones to team battles to four-player free-for-alls. Character abilities have a greater emphasis on teamwork, however; for example, Bugs Bunny can burrow through the ground, creating a tunnel his teammates can use. Interestingly, the game will be free-to-play, supported by in-game purchases and a season-based format with a battle pass. The game will also have both cross-play and cross-progression, so you can play with anyone on any supported console as well as pick up your own game on multiple consoles.

MultiVersus is slated for release some time in 2022 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and PC via Steam.
