Renowned British actress Emily Blunt has issued a heartfelt apology for remarks she made during a 2012 interview on Britain’s “Jonathan Ross Show,” which recently resurfaced in the media. The actress expressed deep regret and remorse for her insensitive comments made about a female server during the talk show appearance.

In the interview, which took place while Blunt was promoting her film “Looper,” she referred to a server at a Chili’s restaurant as “enormous.” The comments were made in response to a quip by Jonathan Ross, the show’s host. In her statement, Blunt acknowledged the insensitivity and hurtfulness of her words and emphasized that they were unrelated to the story she was trying to share on the talk show.

“I just need to address this head-on as my jaw was on the floor watching this clip from 12 years ago,” the actress said. “I’m appalled that I would say something so insensitive, hurtful, and unrelated to whatever story I was trying to tell on a talk show.”

Blunt further expressed her astonishment at her own remarks and stated, “I’ve always considered myself someone who wouldn’t dream of upsetting anyone, so whatever possessed me to say anything like this in that moment is unrecognizable to me or anything I stand for.”

She continued, “And yet it happened, and I said it, and I’m so sorry for any hurt caused. I was absolutely old enough to know better.”

At the time of the interview, Blunt was in Louisiana promoting her film “Looper,” which also starred Bruce Willis and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. The conversation on the talk show had turned towards her experiences while filming in a small town in Thibodaux, Louisiana, where she found herself at a Chili’s restaurant.

Blunt, who is married to actor John Krasinski, recently announced her decision to step away from the spotlight to spend more time with her daughters.

Emily Blunt’s apology reflects her commitment to empathy and her acknowledgment of the impact of her words. She hopes that her sincere apology will be accepted and that the public understands her remorse for any offense caused.
